I just wanted to share a couple of pictures I have taken recently, both happen to include my daughter and her back, go figure.

The first on is of my daughter Riley and her two best friends walking down a paved path at our local park.  I loved this one so much it made its way over the fireplace in the family room in a very large frame.

The picture below was at my daughters soccer game the other day, one of the girls really wanted to take a picture of their numbers, I just thought it was cute how they all embraced and started to pull each other closer and closer.  Girls sports especially at the house league level is just amazing.  They laugh, cheer and sing songs to encourage each other from the sideline.

Celebrating a Goal

 In August the team I help coach with my friend Chris the Boys U-9 Darlington Stikers played in our last tournament of the season in Ottawa.  The boys have had a good year and it has been a lot of fun watching the kids grow.  This tournament was special since it was a growing experience for all involved, the kids the coaches and the parents.  We watched the boys play hard in every game including the final game, as we went late into the Championship game with a team we know very well from our own league the Oshawa Turrell's.  The score was tied 2-2 at the end of regulation time.  The boys went on to score 4 of 5 Penalty Kicks to decide the winner of the tournament.  It was gut wrenching, as a coach of these great kids, as the parent of the Goal Keeper, and knowing that a group of boys will be celebrating the 4hr drive home, and another group will be let down after getting so close.  Fortunately for us we came out on top, and will be a game I will never forget.

Clarington Thunder

Hockey Season has finally ended and we are now fully into soccer and other summer sports.  So I thought I would share some photos I took for my son Beckham's Hockey Team.  One I posted is because it's Beckham's favorite as he scored on a breakaway.  I love the photos however quality wise it's not the best. It's a little dark and I had to shoot through the protective glass.

DUET Durham Ultimate-Frisbee Elementary Tournament

I was invited out to photograph an Ultimate-Frisbee tournament for grade school kids in Durham. This was a very pleasant surprise. I have never been to a Ultimate-Frisbee tournament, nor have I been to a tournament with over 500 grade school kids since I was in grade school myself. I was impressed with the organization that went into this event, 50 teams, on 11 different fields and no referees. Each team with a teacher or two volunteering their time. I even met one team of grade 7-8 kids that were the most polite and genuinely nice kids. When I asked where the coach was, they told me she was here with two teams and that one of the students was in charge. The teachers and parents of these kids should be proud of themselves.

There where no playoffs, or tournament winners. Spirit of the Game and Sportsmanship are what this tournament is about. The spirit shown through in each kids smile as they scored or chanted and cheered for the other team at the end of the game. I truly enjoyed my day and thought I would share a couple of my favorite pics from the day.
