Gaby and Rod's Engagment Session

Gaby, Rod and I met up in Pickering Village to start off our engagement session. The village offers a little bit of architecture in the burbs so we thought we would start there. We then moved on to the lake in Pickering. I have never been to the bottom of Liverpool Rd in Pickering by the waterfront and what a great surprise. They have some little restaurants, shops and stuff right by the lake. What a great place to enjoy a bevy or shoot photos of a couple weeks away from their wedding and overwhelmed with love. We had a great time, I think they are naturals.

Shelly & Tyrone`s Toronto Wedding

After tying the knot in the Dominican Republic Shelly & Tyrone held a post-nuptial reception in picturesque Port Credit for close friends and family. It was an evening celebration resulting in fun from the moment it started until the moment it finished. We started with the bride and groom near the water front taking pictures of the immediate family when a couple living on the street showed up, unknown to anyone in the bridal party, with a pitcher full of lemonade and a tray of champagne flutes! It was wonderful to see the spirit of the evening noticed by virtual strangers who decided to just do something so nice as to bring refreshments out to the family. Returning to the restaurant where a ceremony and reception with friends who couldn't make the trip to the Dominican was to take place, the atmosphere was full of happiness as the guests were invited to express their tropical fashions wearing a variety of shades of blue. The DJ played a variety of music lending itself to the island-theme for the night and we were able to capture shots of the blessing, reception and the dancing that followed. Overall it was a really enjoyable evening. Everyone at the reception was friendly and in the mood to have a great time. Shelly and Tyrone were so appreciative at the end of the evening really capping off what was a great experience for me and hopefully the couple as well.

Stacey & Dalton`s Engagement Session

I met up with Stacey and Dalton at Lakeview Park in Oshawa. We had a lot of fun laughing, smiling and just have a great time with each other. The day was hot, but we found a few cool places in the shade, and a little bit of a breeze off the lake made it a enjoyable afternoon of shooting pictures. I have selected a few of my favorites to share with you from our engagement session.

Engagement Session with Wayne & Sophia

I met up with Wayne in Sophia at Sophia's condo in Mississauga- who knew they had some great photo opportunities right out side the side entrance door? We made our way down to the lake in Port Credit. It was hot! And I don't mean hot as in really warm, I mean hot as in hot, hazy and humid! Not my favorite words that begin with 'H'. Never the less we had a lot of fun, talked about the wedding and got to know each other all a bit more. Can't wait for Friday the 28th of August to celebrate the day of marriage with Wayne, Sophia, family and friends.

The Wedding of Ed & Judy, August 2, 2009

Mother nature was on our side for Ed & Judy's wedding. The day started out at Judy's parents house for a traditional tea ceremony and was followed by a photo session at The Miller Lash House. The setting provide opportunities for some great shots and the enthusiasm of the bridal party was obvious. The ceremony was held at a gorgeous home in Scarborough and the sun was shining the whole time! Afterwards it was off to Ed's mothers house for a 2nd tea ceremony with his family when the skies opened up and it rained- but we were all inside! Later in the afternoon, the weather cleared up and it was time for the reception. Dinner was held at a restaurant in Richmond Hill for a 12 course authentic Chinese feast where guests were invited to play games with the bridal party and enjoy an evening that capped off a day of fun where Ed & Judy tied the knot after their 9 year courtship. It was a fantastic experience and one that I will never forget.

The Wedding of Jessica & Pat. July 25, 2009

It was storming throughout the day with thunder, lightening and especially heavy downpours throughout the service. This was not the ideal situation for a wedding shoot however the weather did not dampen the spirit of the day. Jessica and Pat, both very photogenic, kept smiling through it all. The day began at Jessica's parent's beautiful home where we had a chance to take some pictures of Jessica, her bridesmaids and also her family before it started to rain. It was fitting that the rain stopped shortly after the service allowing us to finish off the day by heading outside with Jessica and Pat to take advantage of the picturesque settings at Royal Ashburn just minutes before heading inside for their first dance as Husband and Wife.

DUET Durham Ultimate-Frisbee Elementary Tournament

I was invited out to photograph an Ultimate-Frisbee tournament for grade school kids in Durham. This was a very pleasant surprise. I have never been to a Ultimate-Frisbee tournament, nor have I been to a tournament with over 500 grade school kids since I was in grade school myself. I was impressed with the organization that went into this event, 50 teams, on 11 different fields and no referees. Each team with a teacher or two volunteering their time. I even met one team of grade 7-8 kids that were the most polite and genuinely nice kids. When I asked where the coach was, they told me she was here with two teams and that one of the students was in charge. The teachers and parents of these kids should be proud of themselves.

There where no playoffs, or tournament winners. Spirit of the Game and Sportsmanship are what this tournament is about. The spirit shown through in each kids smile as they scored or chanted and cheered for the other team at the end of the game. I truly enjoyed my day and thought I would share a couple of my favorite pics from the day.

Pat and Jessica's Engagement Session

I met up with Pat and Jess at a beautiful park in downtown Oshawa called Valleyview. This was my first time in the park and will not be my last. Who knew the "shwa" had such a beautiful park in the middle of the city. The session was a lot of fun and went by very quickly. I simply asked the couple to sit or stand in a place and just let them be themselves.... as much as you can be yourself knowing there's a guy holding a camera and a large zoom lens looking right at you.

I know that I usually like b&w photos over colour. But this time I loved the way the colour seemed to just pop on Jessica's shirt, that and both Pat and Jessica's eyes just brought that little something else to the shots.

Can't wait for the wedding- should be a lot of fun.

Kohl McCafferty Take II

We were back to see Kohl and the family months after taking his first set of pictures. Boy how the boy has grown, and how well his brother Easton has taken to sharing the attention with his little brother. And his thumb, ha ha. We took a few pictures including the ones here with some bubbles, and the very large pencil and ruler set made by Kohl's Mom and Grandpa.

Krissy's New Bundle.

On the weekend I met up with Krissy at her new house to take some pictures of her belly. For those that don't know Krissy is my beautiful wife's cousin and the designer of my website and my logo. We also had the joy of shooting some pics with Krissy's two boys Lukas and Brady. We had a lot of fun trying some things out and just having a lot of fun with the camera.
